The Sky Bar Sandals Royal Barbados Resort

One of the most breathtaking Caribbean Views is seen from the roof top bar at the Sandals Royal Barbados Resort. Sitting on the St. Lawrence Gap on the southern end of the island of Barbados, Sandals has not one but two all inclusive resorts. Once you pick your experience, Sandals Royal Barbados or Sandals Barbados, you are given your room which will be located within the resort of choice. However, you are not stuck within the confines of your home resort. Both the Royal Barbados and Sandals Barbados properties flow into each other and you can enjoy pools, bars, and restaurants on both sides.
When looking at the Royal Barbados pool from the beach, the sky bar is located on the roof of the second building from the beach situated to the left of the pool. Follow the signs to the elevator that takes you up above the 5th floor to the roof.
You will not miss this spot at night because the bar and roof deck glow brilliant led colors. We recommend lounging up top in the day time for one of the best turquois Caribbean ocean views. The roof deck not only boasts a classy bar but also an amazing glass wall infinity pool to offer you a refreshing soak while you admire from above the main pool and beach. There are many lounges and bungalows available and surprisingly this cool space is mostly vacant in the day time.
Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados offer many premium liquors. A few of the offerings at the Sky Bar include: Smirnoff, Absolut, Crown Royal, Jack Daniels, Bombay Safire and Don Julio. The Sky Bar has several signature smoked cocktails, martinis as well as a menu of classic cocktails. Banks Beer is on Draft and found as the default beer at most of the Pool Bars. We often like to ask each bartender to make for us their best drink. Each of the bartenders have a signature, often off of the menu drink, that they are very proud to make for you. When picking up your drink it is good to remember that only the butlers and spa employees are allowed to accept tips. If you try to offer or leave gratuity the bartenders and wait staff will politely yet firmly refuse.
The full list of spirits and libations can be found on Sandals website, but we must also mention Mount Gay Rum. With the founding of the distillery in 1703 Mount Gay Rum has direct ties to pirates, explorers and revolutions. Located on the Island of Barbados the distillery provides daily tasting tours and cocktail classes. When visiting the various bars around Sandals Barbados and Royal Sandals Barbados you will find refreshing Mount Gay Rum cocktails and drinks (possibly some of the best on property).
Our tip: wake up early around 6:30 AM and pick up a few fresh towels that are just being loaded into the towel access areas. The butlers will be begin to reserve beach and pool space for the guests but you can pick and choose right alongside of them and find your perfect spot for the day. Once your towels and a few totems like books, sandals and sunhats are placed you have unofficially reserved your spot. You are now able to go back and sleep in late or take a quiet walk on the beach. Remember the sky bar pool area is not very popular at all in the daytime. You can head up around 9-10 AM and have many lounging options available. While you are enjoying the roof, your totems and towels are holding your beach or pool spot. When you decide to go for lunch you have a sweet post lunch spot under a shady palm on the beach waiting.
