We found ourselves in Miami in the past two months, staying by the airport. Once before our Costa Rica Trip and Once while we evacuated the kids and our Aunt during hurricane Ian. The night before our flight to Costa Rica, we had driven the two hours through some nasty thunderstorms and were exhausted. Some in our party had eaten before leaving Punta Gorda, and some had not. But we were not ready to call it a night and binge on hotel cable or social media until sleep overtook us. A quick Google search Found a martini bar with a food menu that stayed open late and everyone quickly agreed this spot looked perfect. We ordered a car and in a few minutes were on our way without expectations beyond food and a few drinks.

When the Driver pulled into the plaza, we were surrounded by 360 degrees of lights, music, and activity. When we stepped out of the car we stepped into a park surrounded by boutique restaurants and bars. There was a late-night yoga class finishing up in front of the fountain and couples walking the circle checking out the menus of each establishment.

Our Driver let us out right in front of Martini Bar Doral. We walked to their entrance security for a quick inspection before being ushered inside the fence to the open-air bar and seating. The bar has both indoor and outdoor spaces and we chose to sit outdoors at the bar, but facing in to feel a part of what was going on inside. Behind us, outdoor tables and a hookah section spread to the street.

The drinks were good, and the food was delicious. We even had a custom pizza created for our group that was not on the menu. But, most importantly, fun was had by all. I suggest trying the Mojito Miami and the truffle fries. We asked for a custom shrimp pizza with white sauce and the staff went our of their way to perfect our order.

A few weeks later we arrived at City Place with our kids and Aunt on our second trip. All of us were excited for a delicious meal and a chance to stretch our legs walking in the park. It was another beautiful Miami evening. This night we chose Tap 42 , a bar and grill that has an extensive Beer and cocktail menu with a comprehensive section of whiskey and bourbon selections. To complement the drink menu is an expansive kitchen menu with excellent sandwiches and appetizers.

The vibe at Tap 42 is laid back. Perfect for families, friends, and work colleagues. I would not hesitate to bring clients to this space to discuss business or team build. If you are looking for a great date night spot and find yourself in Miami, Tap 42 is a great place to start your night. There is bar space, high-top tables, group tables, and booths. Of course, there is outdoor seating as well. I recommend Rita's Roof Top Lager on tap and the Flame Grilled Chicken Wings served at a high top table.

Beyond the two establishments I mentioned, there is so much more to experience at City Place. You can grab lunch, watch a movie and then stay for dinner and drinks all on one place. This venue could be an all day hangout or late night gathering spot buzzing with local music. For a complete list of dining, shopping, and movie listings, check out their website here https://cityplacedoral.com. If you are driving and plan to park, a parking garage is attached to the property but you can easily walk if you stay at the Hyatt Place Miami Airport Doral/West.
